Personally, I start mowing in mid-April. The grass at my house in North Fort Collins grows incredibly fast and could become a hotspot for mice and snakes. I am terrified of snakes, so I always do my best to keep my yard nice and tidy.

Did you know that certain cities in Colorado have actual laws regarding the length of the grass at your house? It's true. We discovered seven Colorado cities that have grass-length laws.
These are the Colorado towns that have laws regarding grass length.
- In Fort Collins, grass can not be longer than six inches in the yard. For fields and natural areas, the height limit is one foot.
- In Loveland, all grass must be shorter than eight inches.
- In Longmont, all vegetation must be shorter than a foot.

- The city of Lakewood has the same laws as Fort Collins. Six inches is the maximum for residential homes.
- Northglenn has a maximum of eight inches.
