The 3 Best Places to Enjoy a Staycation in Colorado
Summer is here, and many are excited to be taking summer trips. Vacations are some of the best parts of summer. It is nice to escape your routine and visit a place you don't often get to, or to go somewhere to relax and get away from work. The downside of vacations is that they can, at times, be more stressful than normal life and can be costly. Sometimes it isn't a vacation you need, but some time off. Taking a staycation is often more relaxing than traveling, and there are three great places in Colorado to enjoy a staycation.
The Best Places to Enjoy a Staycation in America

Colorado has some great places to enjoy, where you never need to leave the state to relax, find entertainment, or find good food. WalletHub recently released a list ranking the best cities for a staycation, and used a few categories to decide the best cities, such as recreation, food and entertainment, and rest and relaxation. Using these criteria, it was determined that Orlando, Florida, is the best place for a staycation, with Cincinnati, Ohio, being second, and Las Vegas, Nevada, rounding out the top three. Sadly, none of these places are in Colorado, but three cities did make the list, and one of them ranked pretty high. So which cities are the best for a Colorado staycation?
Staycations in Colorado

What is a staycation? There are two ways to look at it. Some view it as staying home, not doing chores, not doing work, and truly going into vacation mode at home as you relax and be lazy. Others view it as staying within 1 to 3 hours of home and not having to deal with the stress of flights, heavy luggage, or long drives. No matter how you view it, there are three places in Colorado to enjoy a staycation. Coming in at 13th on the list is Denver, which is 12th in recreation, 24th in food and entertainment, and 51st in rest and relaxation. Coming in at 78 on the list is Colorado Springs, which is 78 in recreation, 43 in food and entertainment, and 105 in rest and relaxation. The final place to make the list is Aurora at 152 on the list. Aurora is 114 in recreation, 109 in food and entertainment, and 150 in rest and relaxation.
