Traveling to Colorado, most of the time, involves Denver International Airport which opened in 1995. 20 years after that, the Westin at DIA opened. I wonder how many people have stayed there since 2015?

DIA's Westin Hotel Marks 10 Years in 2025

A majority of Coloradans are not likely to stay at the Westin that's at DIA, as we live here. There may be the odd occasion, where to make things more convenient, we book a room, but it's not likely. That doesn't mean that it's not a great or interesting hotel.

With Mortenson as the lead contractor on the project, the Westin Hotel cost nearly $580 to construct, without disrupting any travel during the construction.

You can't miss that big hotel as you approach Denver International Airport; it's hard to imagine there were 10 years that the airport and the Jeppesen Terminal were there, but the hotel was not. Blucifer gets a lot of press, but the Westin is pretty neat, itself.

You have to believe that there are more than a few people that have flown into DIA, to attend some conference at the Westin and never actually head into Denver. I'll bet that one more than a few occasions, people have flown in for an important meeting being held at the Westin, only to flight right back home, afterward.

Here's an idea: A couple gets married, and the night of the wedding they stay at a suite at the Westin before flying out of DIA to their honeymoon the next day. That would take away some of the "travel stress."
