Amateur Detective Work + Location of Colorado’s New Wolves

When one thinks of ranchers, it isn't very often that these cowboy types are associated with detectives, but a story out of Colorado involving the controversial reintroduction of wolves sees the people who are most affected by the predators taking on roles of solving mysteries.

Colorado Ranchers Scout Out New Wolves' Arrival

It wasn't terribly long ago that we were told that the next wave of wolves to be reintroduced into the wild would be coming from British Columbia, Canada, and now it appears that they've arrived.

While the reintroduction of these wolves wasn't made known to the public, Colorado rancher and outfitter Josh Wamboldt and his family, along with a Facebook page dedicated to tracking Colorado wolves, determined that the new group was on a plane this past Sunday and landed at Eagle County Regional Airport later that day.

The ranchers proceeded to follow the trucks that were believed to have been transporting the wolves from the airport to their new home in the Colorado wilderness. While the wolves were allegedly transported through Glenwood Canyon, a spokesman from Garfield County's Department of Parks and Wildlife denied that the wolves were being dropped off there.

From the ranchers' point of view, it's more than understandable that they want to be as informed and knowledgeable about the wolves' whereabouts as possible. Because of this, harrowing stories of tracking the predators are now just as much of a part of Colorado as the wolves themselves.
